Startups and making profit

Farming isn't the first business I settled on, and back then, it took several years for my startup to start realizing some profit margins. Whereas there is no timescale for a when a business should break-even, would any of us persevere past the first year? What kept you going when you started your first business venture?

When it comes to profitability, defining an average time for a start-up company becomes since each start-up measures it in different ways. Conventionally, it can take up to 3 years.
