Spending hours upon hours outdoors can mean too much exposure to UV rays that can increase the risk of skin cancer. Lucky for you, we are sharing a few tips on how you can protect your skin from premature aging. Adding these skincare products to your routine can also help reduce the risk of mild to severe skin disorders.

Prolonged exposure to UV rays triggers various skin problems. Therefore, protecting your skin with a layer of sunscreen is the best way to block these rays. Always apply sunscreen half an hour before heading outside and reapply after every two hours as long as you work on your farm. Pick a sunscreen that includes SP 15 and these four chemical ingredients- titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, avobenzone, and octyl methoxycinnamate. This is true for all skin types and ethnicity.

Face Cleansers

Environmental pollutants and sunscreen mixed with sweat can clog your pores, cause acne, and dark spots. However, cleansing helps remove impurities, oil, and dirt from your skin. So, every evening when you get back home, don’t forget to wash your face with a natural cleanser. It will leave your skin fresh and smooth! (Here’s a great DIY cleanser and scrub in one.)

Facial Scrubs

Remember when we told you how exfoliating your skin removes dead cells. Without exfoliating, dead cells can get trapped on the surface of your skin and encourage dark spots. This will result in clogged pores, dryness, dullness and wrinkles. Using a skin scrub can gently dissolve dead skin cells. Scrubbing with physical exfoliants (consisting of tiny granules) is a great way to brighten your complexion. (Learn how to make your own scrub here.) Keep in mind that 2-3 times per week is enough otherwise excessive exfoliating can make your skin overly sensitive.

While the sun can give you a beautiful tan keep in mind that it also saps all that natural moisture from your face! This eventually results in more pronounced wrinkles. From concealing blemishes to reducing skin problems, moisturizing on a regular basis can actually make your skin healthier. Apply a moisturizer on your face after every wash. Look for a lotion that includes plenty of vitamins and SPF 15 to shield your skin during day. Along with that, stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Your Road to Healthier Skin

Now that you have a better understanding of skincare products, you can have spotless, youthful and supple skin! Depending on your preferences, you may choose from organic or inorganic products, but keep in mind that natural and organic is always best. No matter what you pick, ensure to practice these skincare tips regularly and rejuvenate your skin like never before!

Treating Common Foot Issues: Blisters

Blisters are generally caused by ill-fitting footwear or moist conditions, though they can also be a sign of a larger infection. Blisters can be extremely uncomfortable and make it difficult to work properly. It’s important to treat a blister properly so that it heals quickly and doesn’t cause any further issues.

If it hasn’t popped yet…

Don’t pop it! It’s tempting, but it really is best to let your blister develop on its own time. Ideally, you should leave the blister uncovered, without any pressure on it, but depending on the blister’s location on your feet, this may be impossible at times. Use a donut-shaped moleskin to cover the blister or cover it loosely with a bandage.

If it has popped…

Wash the area with warm water and soap. Avoid using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on the blister. Then smooth the remaining skin, apply an antibiotic ointment, and cover the area with a bandage.

If you need to drain it…

If the blister is ridiculously large or painful, you may need to just drain that sucker. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Wash the area with warm water and soap.
  • Sterilize a needle with rubbing alcohol and water.
  • Make a small hole at the edge of the blister and squeeze out the fluid gently.
  • Wash the blister again, then follow the directions above for a popped blister.
